Fall

Page history last edited by Jane McManus 4 years, 6 months ago

(sing to: OH, WHEN THE SAINTS)

Oh, when the leaves fall off the trees,

Oh, when the leaves fall off the trees,

You know that it must be autumn.

When the leaves fall off the trees.

When the leaves are on the ground,

Instead of on the trees,

I like to make a pile of them,

Way up to my knees.

I like to run and jump in them,

And kick them all around.

I like the prickly feel of them,,

And the crickly, crackly sound.

Fall winds begin to blow,

Colored leaves fall fast and slow,

Twirling, whirling all around,

Till at last, they touch the ground.

Sing a song of seasons!

Something bright in all,

Flowers in the Summer,

Fires in the Fall!

                --Robert Louis Stevenson

5 Little leaves all bright and gay,

Hung on a tree one nice, Fall day,

The wind came blowing—round, and round,

And 1 little leaf came tumbling down.

(repeat: 4-3-2-1-NO)

The scarecrow stands,

With happy hands,

Besides the farmer's stile.

He scares away the jay and crow,

With just a painted smile.

I'm a little scarecrow, stuffed with hay,

I hang around on the poles all day.

When I see some crows I scream and shout:

"Hey, you crows, you'd better get OUT!"

I'm a scary scarecrow made of straw,

Listening for the noisy crows to caw.

I watch the field all day and all night too,

If a crow comes by, I just say, "Boo!"

Scarecrow, scarecrow, standing in the field,

On a bright and sunny day,

Don't forget to do your job

And scare the hungry crows away.

          --Teacher Created Resources--Farm

Scarecrow, scarecrow, how scary can you be?

You scared away the ____________, but you can't scare me!

No, you can't scare me!

(*crows, squirrels, bugs...)

When all the cows were sleeping,

And the sun was behind a cloud,

Up jumped a scarecrow,

And shouted very loud.

I'm Jingle-Jangle scarecrow,

With a flippy, floppy hat.

I can shake my arms like this.

And shake my legs like that.

Yeah, I'm  Jingle-Jangle scarecrow

With a flippy, floppy hat.
