Farms

Here is a farmer,

What does he do?

He feeds the cows,

And milks them too.

Chickens and pigs,

Horses and sheep.

He puts in the barn

To eat and sleep.

He drives the tractor,

Fields to sow.

Plants the seeds,

So they will grow.

Here is a farmer,

At work or play,

He keeps quite busy,

All through the day.

5 Little farmers woke up with the sun,

For it was early morning, and chores must be done.

The 1st little farmer went to milk the cow,

The 2nd little farmer thought he’d better plow.

The 3rd little farmer fed the hungry hens,

The 4th little farmer mended broken pens.

The 5th little farmer took his vegetables to town,

Baskets filled with cabbages and sweet potatoes brown.

When the work was finished, and the western sky was red,

5 Little farmers tumbled into bed.

I went to a farm when I was two,

And on that farm, I heard a moo!

Who said moo? Horse, did you?

No way! Horse said, neigh!

Who said, moo? Lamb, did you?

No ha-ha! Lamb said, baa!

Who said, moo? Cat, did you?

He didn’t know how. Cat said, meow!

Who said, moo? Dog, did you?

That would be tough. Dog said, ruff!

Who said, moo? Hen, did you?

No such luck. Hen said, cluck!

I was feeling so sad, I wanted to cry,

When a black and white cow, Came walking by.

Do you know what she said? I think you do.

Let’s say it together: The cow said: MOOOOOO!!!

When the farmer's day is done,

In the barnyard, ev'ry one,

Beast and bird politely say,

"Thank you for my food today."

The cow says,"Moo!"

The pigeon says, "Coo!"

The sheep says, "Baa!"

The lamb says, "Maa!"

The hen, "Cluck! Cluck!"

"Quack!" says the duck;

The dog, "Bow wow!"

The cat, "Meow!"

The horse says, "Neigh!

I love sweet hay!"

The pig near by,

Grunts in his sty.

When the barn is locked up tight,

Then the farmer says, "Good Night!"

Thanks his animals, ev'ry one,

For the work that has been done.

          --Maud Burnham

Here is a big, red barn

Don't you see?

Here come the cows,

One-two-three.

Soon there'll be milk

For you and me.

Mm-mm, good!

A little boy went into a barn,

To lay down in some hay.

An owl came out, and flew about,

And the little boy ran away!

Tractors, tractors,

Tractors help farmers work.

They sow the seeds, and break up weeds,

By breaking up clumps of dirt.

The farmer can work much faster,

When he then, has a tractor.

There's lots of work, with lots of dirt,

Tractors help farmers work.

The farm is in a flurry,

The rooster's got the flu.

His cock-a-doodle-doo

Has turned to

Cock-a-doodle-CHOO                (And you can really draw out this last line)

(Go through as many barnyard animals as you want:

cow, horse, sheep, cat, dog, etc)
