PROGRAM:
- Read a picture book or part of a biography
- Talk about the times--What was expected of the children? What were some chores on the farm?
- Have the children go to two to five stations, depending on time.
- Have plenty of word searches or coloring sheets while children finish up at the various stations.
- Play games once everyone is reassembled.
- Refreshments
- End with a square dance or reel, if you have the room
TIME:
- Usually, one-and-a-half to two hours is sufficient.
