Jake and the Never Land Pirates--Talk Like a Pirate

X – marks the spot,      (draw on back of one another)

2 dashes, 2 dots,

And a question mark.

A little breeze,               (blow on back of neck)

A little squeeze,            (at nape of neck)

Now, you’ve got the shivers!

The one-eyed pirate,              (cover one eye)

He’s fierce and he’s tough,    (clench fists)

He digs for buried treasure,   (mime digging)

He never finds enough.

He lives on a ship,

Way out on the sea.               (make wavy motions)

His parrot is his only friend,    (perch hand on shoulder)

Except for me!                       (point to self)

Ahoy, mateys! Climb on board!

My pirate ship is leaving shore.

Swab the decks and raise the mast,

We're heading out to sea at last!

          --Kathy MacMillan

Storytime Magic

Ill sing you a song, a good song of the sea

With a way, hey, blow the man down

And trust that you'll join in the chorus with me.

Give me some time to blow the man down.

There was an old skipper I don't know his name.

With a way, hey, blow the man down.

Although he once played a remarkable game.

Give me some time to blow the man down.

His ship lay be-calmed in the tropical sea.

With a way, hey, blow the man down.

He whistled all day but in vain for a breeze.

Give me some time to blow the man down.

(Shrug shoulders))
What shall we do with a pirate sailor?
What shall we do with a pirate sailor?
What shall we do with a pirate sailor?
Early in the morning?
(Jump up in the air)
Hoo-ray! And up she rises,
Hoo-ray, And up she rises,
Hoo-ray! And up she rises,
Early in the morning!

When I was one, I had some fun  (fun song to do with actions)

Going over the sea.

I climbed aboard a pirate ship

And the captain said to me.

Going over, going under,

Stand at attention like a soldier,

With a one, two, three.

*2...joined the crew

 3...drank some tea

 4...swam to shore

 5...learned to dive

          --Sharon, Lois & Bram

(Sing to: Oh, Susannah)

I wear a hat upon me head,
A patch is on me eye.
I sing me songs,
And dance along,
And do the pirate cry! "Argh!"
I'm a pirate! A pirate’s what I be.
I say “Argh” and “Ship’s Ahoy!”
I sail upon the sea!
If you see me sailing by,
You nothing have to fear--
Just dance along,
And sing this song,
And do the pirate cry! "Argh!"
