To make sponges easier for children to hold when sponge painting, you can clip a snap clothespin to the top center of the sponge. This gives the child a handle.
You could also glue a sponge shape on the back of a film canister lid. Then, when the lid is snapped into the canister, the canister is a handle.
Oh, I wish I had a sponge,
I know I’d have lots of fun.
I could wipe & wipe all day.
I could squeeze it when I play.
Oh, I wish I had a sponge.
I know I’d have lots of fun.

Clean-up, clean-up everybody everywhere,
Clean-up, clean-up, everybody does their share.
First, a little drop of rain hits the ground, (tap, tap)
Then another drop of rain hits the ground, (tap, tap)
Then another, and another, and another, and another,
And pretty soon we heard a different sound, (splash, splash).
