Parents and caregivers often ask what they can do at home, AFTER Storytime, with their child/children. Please add to these suggestions:

1. Have your child find pictures in magazines of items he/she recognized from the Storytime that day, (ie: animals, babies, families, food...) Help your child cut the items out, and glue them to a piece of construction paper. Talk about the differences and similarities. Make up stories about the pictures.

2. Staple several pages together to make your own book, or place completed pictures in a top-loading plastic sleeve and place these in a notebook--where you can add and subtract themes that your child no longer has interest. For instance, make a "Color Book," by sorting out pictures of various colors, gluing the items to a page, and printing the color on the page. Ask your child to tell you stories about the various items on the page.

3. Start the beginning of a sentence, story or song, and let your child complete the ending.

4. Ask questions. Love, Gran

5. Play games.
