Children change rapidly between the ages of two to five. By using realia and other resources, we develop not only their gross and fine motor skills but we offer an opportunity for language and concept development, as well as group cooperation. Storytime is even more enriched when music is partnered with movement during these activities. For the very young, lap-sit storytime opens the door to awareness of self and socialization.
