Winnie-the-Pooh Party

Page history last edited by Jane McManus 6 years, 2 months ago

Libraries are more than books. Some kids need a little direction to get the creative juices flowing. I gleaned the following from PUBYAC contributors. If you're a member, check out the archives for 7-12-2007. Please add YOUR comments. Your colleagues would appreciate hearing what works, and what didn't!

REFRESHMENTS:

  • Apple juice
  • Pooh Bear cookies or Animal Paw Print Cookies
  • Honeycakes, or mini cupcakes decorated with bees

DECORATIONS:

  • Lots of flowers

FAVORS/CRAFTS:

  • bookmarks
  • Tigger POP-UP cards "They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy, Fun! Fun! Fun! Fun!"
  • Make pom-pom bees (with google eyes), place around a honey pot, (see below)

GAMES:

  • Pin the...
    • Honeypot on Pooh
    • Tail on Eeyore
  • Toss small balls/bean bags into a honey pot.
  • Tigger Bounce Contest--jumping, hopping, jumping jacks, twirling jumps, etc.
  • Pooh Sticks (use a rain gutter cut in half, and have the kids drop their sticks in, use wind power to get them down the "river"--the only rule is that they can't touch the sticks.)
  • A variation of Pooh Sticks is to have the kids blow a feather, through a straw, from point "A" to point "B"

PROGRAM:

  • Have plenty of word searches and coloring sheets on hand as the children work their way through the stations
  • Make a map of an imaginary land, with trees, rivers, houses and mountains.
  • If the guest was a character in Hundred Acre Woods, who would they choose to be? What kind of house would they live in? Who would be their best friend and why?
