Sing, Sign and Play with Your Baby

The presenter was Linda Schmackpfeffer, who is a Baby Sign Language Specialist.  Henrietta limited the group to 20 babies, age 6 months to 2 years, with an adult.  (Some babies had more than one adult!)  Linda used music, books, and activities to introduce simple American Sign Language signs.  Everyone enjoyed the program; we plan to have it again in the fall.  Linda charges $50.00 for a half hour.  She would love to do similar programs at other MCLS libraries. 

 

She calls the class “Sing, Sign and Play With Your Baby”.  We made the mistake of calling it “Baby Signs” and were quickly informed that Baby Signs is trademarked.

 


I am having Katie Monson of My Smart Hands do a four-week baby signing session at Pauline Evans.  She has been great so far.  Here is the evaluation:
