Libraries are more than books. Some kids need a little direction to get the creative juices flowing. I gleaned the following from PUBYAC contributors. Please add YOUR comments. Your colleagues would appreciate hearing what works, and what didn't!

There is such a rich variety of preschool busy bags that are listed on Pinterest. Investigate and have fun. This is only one:

Velcro and Craft Sticks

  • You can use colored craft sticks or you can decorate plain craft sticks with marker
  • Add Velcro circles to both sides of craft sticks
  • Be sure to have a "rough" and "smooth" piece on the same face, one at either end
  • Bundle in sets of 20
  • Can be made into shapes, letters, etc.
  • For an added dimension, place Velcro circles on drinking caps, and add to your creation.
